Wild Sage Market was once no more than seeds of an idea. Being a truly great idea, with just the right conditions and a clear Vision, we have nurtured those seeds into something very tangible. This Vision has been the foundation of our principles and an indispensable guide. With our Vision, we will:
• Increase our community’s access to a variety of local, regional, and organic foods
• Support sustainable practices that protect our environment
• Be a source of education in our community
• Demonstrate our dedication to making shared ownership a rewarding experience
Although our store doesn’t yet have a physical presence, there are many tangible ways we can bring our Vision even further into reality. One of these is a seed exchange, which our board of directors will host immediately following the member-owner meeting.
Like sharing ideas, sharing and exchanging seeds will collectively increase what we are all capable of, as well as actively accomplish all four parts of our Vision. Several of our board, as well as member-owners, have volunteered to bring surplus seeds, bulbs, rhizomes, and tubers to share with anyone interested in increasing their knowledge and collections for their own gardens.
If you are interested in participating, please do! You (or your fellow member-owner) might have just the plant that will save the other’s garden! We encourage you to bring extra zip-lock bags, envelopes, or containers of your choice to take your new seeds home in.
We have even more exciting things in the works to give this project wonderful momentum going into the New Year ahead of us and beyond, so join us at the January member-owner meeting to share, and actively take part in our Vision.
7:00 pm January 22nd, Green River City Hall, City Council Chambers
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
